Erik is the founder and creative director of global award-winning hospitality design studio Stylt in Gothenburg, Sweden. Storytelling is Erik's tool for bringing experiences and brands to life. Stories are always the thread in creating the concepts, guiding every aspect of development. This results in consistent, engaging and memorable design, with which Erik has become synonymous.
Erik is a Norwegian visionary and artist with a passion for creative concepts and engaging experiences. In the years since he’s been at the helm of Stylt, the agency has grown and expanded and today employs over fifty people; a range of artists, designers, architects, interior designers, engineers, developers, copywriters and art directors. From offices in Gothenburg, Sweden, Stylt tackles projects throughout Scandinavia and beyond. So far, the portfolio includes over 400 restaurants, about 250 hotels and a variety of destinations.
Under Erik's leadership, the company has won many prestigious hospitality awards, most recently the Niehku Mountain Villa was awarded the UNESCO Prix Versailles for the word’s best hotel design. The HUUS Hotel Gstaad won at the German Design Awards as well as the AHEAD awards and the Downtown Camper project won the top prize at the World Interiors Awards at the Best Urban Hotel. Other recent projects of note are the Hide Hotel Flims, a boutique mountain hotel in Switzerland as well as the 25hours Das Tour Düsseldorf hotel. The most recent is the Pater Noster lighthouse project, a remote and exclusive hotel on a small island in Sweden.
